Cartridges
Sometimes called the needle or the stylus, a turntable cartridge is a device that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. The electrical energy is processed by your stereo system, which outputs the converted electrical energy into the sound waves emanating from your speakers.
Modern cartridges are either Magnetic Cartridges or Moving Coil Cartridges.
